Course content

If you consider yourself to be creative, then you already have one of the essential traits of a successful entrepreneur. Your creativity may help you with building a business plan and solving unique problems, but you will also need to think about how to get new clients, how to maintain creativity in business, engagement via social media and much more.

Our MA Fashion Entrepreneurship course will give you:

  • the opportunity to develop your start-up idea into an industry-aligned business within the creative industries
  • chances to collaborate with a range of industry partners
  • the opportunity to establish a network of industry connections
  • valuable peer relationships
  • entrepreneurial skills.

The first term focuses on your development of essential entrepreneurship know-how and your engagement with both real-world best and worst practice cases to learn for your own fashion business and refine your start-up idea. You will get opportunities to network with other entrepreneurs and established industry practitioners, and attend specialist workshops that you can tailor around your specific start-up needs.

The second term is dedicated to incubating your start-up idea and providing you with the chance to apply the knowledge gained throughout the course to develop a robust business plan. Your final project, in the third term, will be used to launch your creative initiative, which could be anything from starting a fashion event to kick-off your business or launching an app prototype to securing funding for your fashion brand.

You will have one-to-one sessions with your supervisor in the run-up to your assessment at a pitch event, which will be in front of a specialist panel of relevant industry experts and academics.

On the MA Fashion Entrepreneurship course, it is essential that you have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other industry specialists. We will encourage and support this group work element. A high degree of self-starter motivation is also required and this will be fostered through one-to-one tutoring.
