Engineers stand between science and society, they turn ideas in to real physical objects, they work to improve the lives of people and through the application of materials and energy to change the way the world works. Civil engineers work within the built environment and have the privilege of ensuring the safety, convenience and efficiency of towns, cities and rural areas across the Earth.
This programme provides students with an advanced level of education across a broad range of Civil Engineering subjects. Graduates from this programme will have achieved a high level of competence in the mathematical design of the elements of the built environment from structure to foundations to the behaviour of materials. Graduates will have developed skills in critical thinking and problem solving that will provide them with a basis for carrying out research into subjects across the built environment.
They will also have developed their interpersonal and leadership abilities to allow them to become valued future members of the civil engineering industry. The intention of this programme is to provide students with the opportunity to advance themselves both through attaining knowledge through study but also through practical application of engineering principles via active learning.
