Entry requirements

Bachelor Degree (UK 2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as urban planning and design, architecture, geography, economics, management, environmental science, social and public policy. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in other fields will be assessed on a case by case basis.

An English version portfolio is required, which should have an introductory table of content in which all projects are listed, with their title, their date, the context in which they were developed and the specific contribution of the candidate to the project. The portfolio should be saved in a PDF(max 10MB).

The MSc Urban Planning (specialisation in Urban Design) programme allows you to engage in the complex issues of urban space production in the dynamic Chinese context.

You will learn to consider the interplay between spatial design and social, economic, environmental and political issues evident in a range of urban settings. Taught with an interdisciplinary approach to the development of urban form, the programme is not limited to those with architecture or urban planning backgrounds - it is relevant to anyone interested in understanding the nature and production of spaces.

Note: For students from this programme who need degree verifications from the Ministry of Education of China, the degree verification only indicates the degree title “Urban Planning ", without the specialisation in brackets.
