Entry requirements

The course is suitable for all graduates of the MSc in Housing, the MSc in Transport and Planning, the MSc in Regeneration Studies, the MSc in Sustainability, Planning and Environmental Policy, and the MA in Urban Design, and those with similar degrees from other accredited planning schools who did not do an undergraduate degree in planning.

Course content

To provide the planning skills and knowledge necessary to supplement appropriate specialist masters degrees in order to satisfy RTPI requirements.

Special Features
  • Available in a part-time mode one or two days a week, allowing students to work almost full-time, but still gain a qualification that can provide access to the UK planning profession.
  • The students are taught alongside others doing a professional 'conversion' degree and special assistance is provided to help them manage their work.

Information for international students

All candidates are required to have a good knowledge of demonstrate competency in the English language (at least 6.5 in IELTS or a TOEFL score of 575/232). Pre-course English Language tuition is available.

Fees and funding

CPLAN is able to offer a scholarship (for reduction in programme fees) of £500 to all Cardiff University Undergraduate UK/EU students progressing to postgraduate taught programmes and studying full-time. For progressing Cardiff University Undergraduate UK/EU students studying part-time a scholarship of £250 is available for each year of the course.
