Entry requirements
One year course
- You will need an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above) containing some evidence of quantitative ability.
Two year course
- You will need an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.1 or above) containing some evidence of quantitative ability.
Additional requirements
- All applicants will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the subject they wish to study and should demonstrate how their chosen programme of study will benefit them in their future career.
- One academic reference is required.
- Placements are only available for students beginning their studies in September.
Other qualifications and experience
We welcome applications from students with non-standard qualifications and learning backgrounds and work experience. We consider credit transfer, vocational and professional qualifications, and any work or life experience you may have.

Course content
Our MSc Finance degree provides you with an in-depth understanding of core financial concepts, theories and tools used in a wide variety of organisations worldwide. This course is designed for ambitious individuals who don't necessarily have a background in finance but can evidence a good level of quantitative ability
Throughout the course you will immerse yourself in financial mathematics, model building, risk management, and mergers and acquisitions. You will apply knowledge, tools and techniques to resolve issues in new and diverse situations within the finance disciplines, evaluate the rigour and validity of published research, and assess its relevance to the practice of finance.
In your third semester, you’ll choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use your skills in a real-world setting, you can choose from completing a consultancy experience project or a business research project.

If you opt for the two-year option you can add a year’s work placement onto your course. It’s a great way to put your learning into practice and gain valuable real-world experience to help boost your career prospects once graduating. Completion of a placement means you'll also qualify for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience.
Please note the placement option is only available for students beginning their studies in September.
