Entry requirements

Normally you need

• a degree

• an English language teaching qualification

• at least two years’ experience teaching English

You may also be able to claim credit points which can reduce the amount of time it takes to complete your qualification at Sheffield Hallam. Find out more

If English is not your first language and your undergraduate degree was not conducted in the English language, you are required to have passed the IELTS English language test with a result of 7 or more, with a minimum of 6 in each skill area.

Teaching English for Academic Purposes will allow you to develop specialist knowledge in academic discourse, EAP pedagogy and curriculum design.
