Entry requirements

You can apply to the Master’s Programme in Global Politics and Communication if you meet the following criteria:

  1. You have completed at least a first cycle (bachelor’s) degree at a higher education institution in Finland or abroad, or will do so by 31 August 2026.
  2. You have sufficient skills in English.
  3. You have completed a sufficient amount of studies applicable to the master’s programme.

What is the role of media in modern democracies?

How does media shape the transformation of contemporary democratic systems? Why do economic processes often lead to global and national financial crises and inequality rather than stability and democratization? In what ways do governance structures influence organisations and communication, and how do organisations and governance systems shape political, economic, and communicative activity?


About the programme

In the Master’s Programme in Global Politics and Communication, you explore a unique interdisciplinary combination of political science, communication studies, and global political economy. The programme equips you with analytical tools, theoretical frameworks, and methodologies to address pressing societal and political challenges, while strengthening your critical thinking, reasoning, and argumentation skills.

  • Media and Democracy
  • World Politics and Economic Governance
