Course content

This programme is geared to provide students with an understanding of the international tourism industry and an appreciation of the key issues affecting its continued development. It also presents an opportunity to gain insights into the marketing and management issues impacting on the sector. Students are also presented with opportunities to update their language and IT skills, their communication and presentation skills, and to interact with tourism industry practitioners and visiting international faculty. Research skills are developed through dedicated methodology modules leading to the completion of a dissertation on a chosen topic in tourism.

Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of either prior successful completion of a degree qualification taught through the medium of English or meet one of the Universities English Language Requirements. Fees and funding

The University of Limerick is offering 10 taught postgraduate scholarships to potential applicants for the 2014/15 academic year. The value of each scholarship is €2,000. The successful candidates will receive the scholarship in the form of a reduced fee. The Scholarships will be allocated by the faculties on the basis of financial need and personal statement from the applicants.
