Course content

This MA International Relations programme explores the political, social, and economic forces shaping global affairs. The course provides a critical understanding of how states, international organisations, and non-state actors interact within the international system and influence global politics.

You will examine key themes such as governance, diplomacy, conflict, migration, human rights, and international cooperation. The programme encourages you to engage with contemporary global challenges and develop the analytical tools needed to evaluate political decision-making and international policy.

Throughout the course, you will build advanced research, analytical, and communication skills. Learning activities include lectures, seminars, simulations, case studies, and project work designed to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world international relations practice.

The programme also develops your ability to apply evidence-based reasoning to complex global issues, preparing you to contribute to policy discussions, international organisations, and global governance initiatives.

Graduates will be equipped for careers in diplomacy, international organisations, policy and research institutions, government agencies, charities, and non-governmental organisations operating in the international arena.
