Course content
The MA Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an advanced postgraduate programme designed to develop skilled, reflective practitioners trained in evidence-based CBT. The course combines a strong theoretical foundation with supervised clinical learning, enabling you to deepen your understanding of psychological theory while developing practical therapeutic skills.
You will learn to assess, formulate and treat a range of psychological difficulties using cognitive behavioural approaches, developing the ability to deliver high-intensity interventions and work effectively with complex clinical presentations. Through interactive teaching, supervised practice and reflective learning, the programme supports you in building professional confidence, ethical awareness and strong clinical judgement.
Designed for graduates with prior counselling training and experience in a helping role, the programme supports progression towards professional practice as a counsellor or psychotherapist with a CBT orientation. By the end of the course, you will have developed the theoretical knowledge, clinical competence and professional identity required to practise effectively across a range of therapeutic settings.
