Course content

The MA in Global Literary Industries Management is designed for students preparing for careers in the literary and cultural industries, including journalism, publishing, creative writing, editing, archiving, reviewing, broadcasting, arts writing, and heritage management.

The MA combines practical and critical approaches to working in these industries. You will be taught by academics with professional experience in publishing, journalism, editing, curating, archiving, and documentary-making, heritage, and arts management. You will explore the most significant and innovative developments in these fields, including new media, online and interactive publishing, gaming and narrative, arts and site specific writing, adaptations and translations, literary tourism and heritage management.

Core modules include: Approaches to Critical and Creative Concepts; Communicating the Cultural Industries; Literary Industries and New Media; Final Project.
Optional modules include: Narrative Non-Fiction: The Interdisciplinary Art; Scriptwriting; Shakespear and his World; Special Project (Text, Context, Intertext); Special Project (Text, Culture, Theory); The Art and Craft of Fiction; Writing for Children and Young People; Cultural Flows; Nation, Culture, Power.
