Entry requirements

MSc: A first or second class Honours degree, or equivalent qualification in an appropriate science may take the course over 12 months. The duration of the course for students with other qualifications would normally be 24 months. PgDip: An appropriate science degree, or equivalent qualification is required.

Course content

Provides specialised knowledge of the analytical techniques used to detect, identify and quantatively determine drugs and related substances. Participants are introduced to techniques for evaluating analytical data and validating analytical methods, and to strategies for analytical research and development. The course has access to the fuill range of analytical spectroscopic and chromatographic instrumetnation and students gain first hand experience in a wide range of modern instrumentation and techniques.

Laboratory-based research project undertaken in either in-house or at an external collaborative partner.
