Entry requirements

1st or 2:1 UK Honours degree, or equivalent. Suitable for graduates of any academic background, depending on quality of applicant portfolio. Applicants whose first language is not English are normally expected to have a minimum IELTS score of 7 overall. In addition to the application form and supporting documents applicants should also provide: Copies of recent creative work (undergraduate work is welcome). Word length will depend very much on the genre of work produced but we would expect approximately 20 pages of prose.

Offers knowledge and expertise in the practice and craft of writing, with extensive writing workshops designed to enhance your creative writing skills, plus supporting modules on analysis of the creative process and the teaching of creative writing. Provides an ideal preparation for writers and writer-teachers, and for those seeking work in publishing, arts administration and related fields.

This course is included in the Masters Excellence Scholarship 2015 (Pathway to PhD) scheme. If you are looking at applying for a Masters degree with the intention of going on to study at PhD level then you are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The application will ask you to consider your research area and future sources of funding.
